Abejo brings you Awadhi cuisine from the heartland of Lucknow with a high energy bar vibe, music, mixology, great beers and beer cocktails also. Abejo is Persian for ‘water of barley or beer’ and is a local slang for beer in Iran, our bar serves up a variety of spirits and wines also.
The mascots ‘YoHa’, who adorn the wall mural at Abejo, are both avid food lovers who started their food journey back in their hometowns. Their love for food brought them to Persia, where they indulged in a number of cuisines, and explored a world of different flavours of beer, food and customs. Their fascination for rich flavours, then brought them to Lucknow, where they explored Awadhi cuisine of kebabs, qormas and biryanis! They moved onward to the young, hip city of Pune and brought both these passions together with Abejo- an Awadhi restaurant with a hint of Puneri and Persian flavours!
Come enjoy this unique culinary experience, full of rich history!
The Ambience of Abejo is classy with beautiful paintings on one side and a sober plush look on the other.Outside there are hanging pointing poles from the ceiling which looks very attractive.
How is Abejo different from the restaurants in the vicinity?
The cuisine and food quality sets Abejo apart with the amazing Awadhi cuisne blended with Persian taste. This place is wonderful for both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian food lovers.
I had the following
We started our meal with this delicious ‘chat’. Loved the perfect blend of spicy and sweet flavor.I loved the chat so much that I had two of these.A must try at this place .*Highly recommended*
Next up we tried the Schwezan Paneer ke Soole .The Paneer is soft and perfectly marinated and is served with sliced spring onions and lemon.Along with Paneer they provide wondeful chutneys which make this amazing appetizer even better.
To end the starters with this drooling tacos shooted our tastebuds .The chutneys shown in the image above added amazing flavor to the tacos and made this an amazing meal .
To beat the heat we had this wonderful sharbat.Added with jeera flavored chat masala the kokum sharbat refreshed us and got us rejuvenated in the scorching heat.
For Main course I tried Subz Korma and Dal makhani with assorted bread. The Dal makhani was one of the best I have had in Pune . The Subz Korma was equally tasty and mouth watering. The breads were perfect with and added variety available.
Abejo offers us with amazing cocktails .I tried one of their Beer cocktails. It was called ‘Dark and Stormy’ .It was a mixture of white rum and Beer and was absolutely amazing. It got me tipsy and is one you must try.
To end our meal on a high dose of sweetness. We tried the Shahi tukda which was drooling and amazingly tasty.
After we finished our meal the bill was served in a very unique way with complimentary pan shots. They were very tasty with the milk and gulkand flavor. I had two of these .
